Untitled original serigraph by Robert Anderson (US, 1945-2010), not signed, circa 1980s, purportedly from the Amity Arts Foundation Collection, sheet size - 27 3/4" x 19 7/8"
Robert Anderson received his MFA from Pratt Institute in 1972. He was involved with digital image making since 1986, using the computer as a graphical composition tool for planning complicated figurative paintings. It's beens said that Anderson's work "...has, in contrast to his refined photo-realist technique, a definite, causal blue-jeaned feeling of the 60's and 70's. Anderson also successfully combines imagery from different eras of American history into modern muses and fantasies." His work has also been called "Victoriana Revisited" which is a description of the subject matter and overall atmosphere. Anderson used a soft focus airbrush technique, using shadows to show that his foreground figures are not really part of their settings. His work can be found in many collections, too numerous to list here.
