A painter and illustrator, Charlot studied at Lycee Condorcet, Paris and later received a Guggenheim Fellowship. Charlot’s style was influenced to a large degree by Mexican art and Mexican artists that he worked with, including Diego Rivera, and is considered to have participated in the founding of Mexican muralism.
